Pre-Columbian treasure immersed in the Lacandon jungle.
The richness of this site translates in its majority in the stelae, lintels and wonderful murals that it contains. Established as a satellite city of Yaxchilan, Bonampak saw its apogee in the late classic. Its inhabitants created several murals that tell their story and talk about epic battles. It is believed that after creating them the site was abandoned without apparent explanation. Today Bonampak is managed by an indigenous Lacandon community that will make you visit very pleasant.
